»Canis Mortuus Familiaris« is an exhibition of phantasmagorical pooches, exploring facial recognition and perception, animism, and the uncanny. Created using a digital painting and deformation process, mutations were »selected«, using criteria such as novelty, grotesqueness, anthropomorphism, and infantile tendencies. These pooches are melting and gaseous, shifting freely between fur and smoke, suggesting only a very tenuous hold on corporeality.
